DNA, Emotions & Consciousness

"Human evolution could soon occur at a rate and with
a set of rules that may be very different than what
the Darwinian model has characterized so far."
Bruce Lahn, geneticist

An important paper by H. F. Nijhout (BioEssays 12:441, 1990) reveals that “When a gene product is needed, a signal from its environment, not an emergent property of the gene itself, activates expression of that gene.” Simply stated, a gene can not turn itself on or off, it is dependent upon a signal from its environment to control its action.

The following leading research pioneers understand the relationship between biology and consciousness. This is important to understand as all life on Earth is undergoing an evolutionary upgrade via our consciousness which is electromagnetic and as a consequence our biology is changing.

Dr Bruce Lipton: Internationally recognized authority on the “New Biology”

Dr. Bruce Lipton is an internationally recognized authority in bridging science and spirit and he is highly gifted presenter of the “New Biology”. For decades the scientifc perspective was that the human body was a biochemical machine ‘programmed’ by its genes. Hence, strengths, abilities, weaknesses, health and our frailties were inherited and preprogrammed into our genes. His research at Stanford University’s School of Medicine, revealed that the environment, and a person's perspective of the envionment, controlled the behavior and physiology of the cell, turning genes on and off. His discoveries, heralded one of today’s most important fields of study, the science of epigenetics. Two major scientific publications derived from these studies defined the molecular pathways connecting the mind and body. Many subsequent papers by other researchers have since validated his concepts and ideas.

Dr. Candace Pert: Internationally recognised pharmacologist

Dr. Pert is an internationally recognized in the field of neuropeptide and receptor pharmacology, and chemical neuroanatomy. Dr. Pert lectures worldwide on her theories on emotions and mind-body communication. Her recent popular book, Molecules of Emotion, Why You Feel the Way You Feel details her life and career.

“In the beginning of my work, I matter-of-factly presumed that emotions were in the head or brain. Now I would say they are really in the body and are part of the body. I can no longer make a strong distinction between the brain and the body...”

“The old barriers between brain and body are breaking down. The neuropeptide chemicals that mediate emotion and the receptors for those chemicals are found in almost every cell of the body.”

The Heartmath Institute

The Institute of HeartMath Research Center has found a critical link between emotions and the heart, as well as the immune and hormonal systems. The IHM Research Center conducts basic research on emotional physiology and heart–brain interactions, clinical and organizational studies, and research on the physiology of learning and optimal performance.

An additional line of inquiry aims to further the scientific understanding of the human biofield, intuition, and the emotional energetic system. HeartMath's research forms the foundation for the development of practical, scientifically validated emotional refocusing and repatterning technologies that enable people to significantly improve their health and vitality, performance, and quality of life. The latest research reveals that we have a brain in the heart. The heart is far more than a simple pump, it is observed that the heart acts as if it had a mind of its own and profoundly influences the way we perceive and respond to the world. Click the small heart icon to find out more!

Important Update for the 2nd Edition:

In the book Tuning the Diamonds, evolutionary changes are associated with the Earth's magnetic field fading and the example is given of what happened 40,000 years ago. Susan Joy Rennison writes:

“During this period, the Earth's magnetic field dropped in strength to about 10% of today's value, and so without the normal protective shield, cosmic radiation penetrated the Earth's atmosphere with ease. The facts reveal that the climate changed and there was a host of evolutionary changes, where numerous species in the Northern Hemisphere either underwent significant change or disappeared altogether.”

The book Tuning the Diamonds goes on to discuss the energetic impetus driving evolutionary change today, however, Susan Joy did not think that scientists would find evidence of evolutionary changes taking place in decades. Yet in June 2006, we find a press release from the University of Oregon and subsequently these headlines “Recent, rapid climate change is driving evolution of animal species” widely reported on the Internet. This has been associated with “global warming”. Yet, as the above H. F. Nijhout quote tells us, the environment is not dead, it transmits signals, the animals are changing in reponse to a new electromagnetic impetus driving evolutionary change on Earth and has nothing to do with temperature which the authors William E. Bradshaw, professor of biology, and Christina Holzapfel, a biology research associate show. The researchers state:

Over the past 40 years, animal species have been extending their range toward the poles and populations have been migrating, developing or reproducing earlier,” said Bradshaw. “These expansions and changes have often been attributed to 'phenotypic plasticity,' or the ability of individuals to modify their behavior, morphology or physiology in response to altered environmental conditions.”

However, adds Holzapfel, “phenotypic plasticity is not the whole story. Studies show that over the past several decades, rapid climate change has led to heritable, genetic changes in animal populations.

The question here is: So, what about possible changes to human DNA? Well, the next set of changes will push humans towards evolving spiritually and the book Tuning the Diamonds, explains how this will occur.
