The Evolutionary Path

The Evolutionary Path

  • David hawkins over a twenty year period, undertook "calibrations" that involved testing tens of thousands of people from all ages, personality types, backgrounds, and varying states of health.
  • Hawkins found a consistent response and so devised a scale from 1-1,000, which calibrates the degree of power of all possible levels of awareness.
  • Using chaos theory he found the calibrated levels represent powerful attractor fields within the domain of consciousness, that serve to act as organizing energies for widespread patterns of behavior.
  • Attractor is the name give to an identifiable pattern that emerges from data that just appears meaningless. This hidden coherence was first demonstrated in nature by Edward Lorenz who studied computer graphics derived from weather patterns over long periods of time.
  • The attractor pattern he identified is known as the "Lorenz's Butterfly", and we can see it is the metaphysical infinity sign which represents balance and harmony!

The Evolution of Consciousness

Hawkins states in his books that mankind's collective level of consciousness remained at 190 for many centuries and then in direct association with the Harmonic Concordance in 1987 jumped to 204. Then it jumped to 207 in the mid 1990s, Hawkins describes this "as the most profound and significant event in all of man's history".
He warns that energy fields of consciousness are always mixed and so a person may operate at varying levels of consciousness in different areas of their life. So our overall calibration is the sum total effect of these various levels.
The most important thing to know is that this scale is not arithmetic but a logarithmic progression. So 400 is not twice the power of 200, it is 10 to the power 400 (10400) and 200 corresponds to 10 to the power 200, (10200). So an increase in a few points represent a major advance in power. Hawkins also found from studies that this scale also corresponds with the chakra system with the heart at 500. This helps us to start to understand the effect that relatively few people can have on the whole.

Description

Enlightenment 700-1000 At this level people set in place attractor energy fields that influence all of mankind. The greatest spiritual leaders calibrate here, with great teaching to uplift the mass of humanity. Great avatars like Krishna, Buddha and Jesus Christ.
Peace 600 It is surmised that the level of peace and bliss is relatively rare and it is associated with transcendence, self-realization and God-consciousness. Yet it is important for as many as possible to acquire these levels to help raise mass consciousness.
Joy 540 Becomes a constant in life and is experienced, as inner joy not specifically associated with any particular external events or sources. This is the level of healing and levels higher than this are associated with saints and advanced spiritual teachers and healers. Near-death experiences normally transform people to experience levels between joy and peace
Love 500 Is unconditional, forgiving, understanding and nurturing. This kind of love emanates from the heart and is the level of true happiness.
Reason 400 The ability to conceptualize and comprehend. Here knowledge is important but with all the concepts and theories it is easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees, hence losing the essence of truth. This level can be a block to higher levels of consciousness.
Acceptance 350 Is where we take responsibility and we understand ourselves to be creators of our life's experiences. At this level we take back our power and demonstrate balance, this is a clear sign of spiritual evolution.
Willingness 310 Positive stance on life, with a commitment to participate and contribute to society. High self-esteem mixed with willingness to learn from experience. These people are assets to society.
Neutrality 250 An attitude of being relatively unattached to particular outcomes, trusting that life will work out overall. Neutral people are easy to get along with as they don't need to control people or situations and in turn they are difficult to control.
Courage 200 This is the first level of empowerment where one is able to face life with courage and make a difference to the world. At this level we start to gain energy.
Pride 175 Taking pride in appearance and social status is socially encouraged, but pride is divisive and has a downside of arrogance and denial.
Anger 150 When desires are not met, frustration generates anger and hate due to the inability to control situations and events.
Desire 125 The desire for money, prestige and power motivates most human activity and can lead to excessive greed. However, it is also the path to achievement and so can be a springboard to higher levels of awareness.
Fear 100 Represents fear of the world and limiting beliefs. Fear is used by dictatorial regimes to control the populace and it is exploited in consumer societies to sell more products. Fear limits the growth of the personality.
Grief 75 Sadness, loss and regret, is normal experience in life but it can become debilitating if prolonged. One's view of life can be colored and loss of a loved one can be equated with a loss of love itself leading to depression.
Apathy 50 This is a state of despair, hopelessness and helplessness. As people evolve, they move out of apathy and grief to overcome fear as away of life.
Guilt 30 Self-punishment, often used to manipulate and pubish. Unconscious guilt often leads to psychomatic disease , accident proneness and suicidal behavior. Guilt provokes rage.
Shame 20 Has the most destructive effect on emotional and psychological health, and the consequence in low self-esteem, makes one susceptible to physical illness.
